Hi I note that your Double Induction Hob is rated at 3100W, can you tell me if that's both hobs individually, the larger of the two or both hobs combined? Many thanks in advance, Howard Warne

3100W is the total wattage of both rings combined.  Individual wattages are 1700W for the larger ring and 1300W for the smaller

Do not buy SEA12

I hed previously read a review stating that the SEA12 hob will not simmer, I ignored it and bought one - I really wish I had heeded the warning. The hob heats up quickly but it's almost impossible to maintain a consistent simmer. I've owned it for several months now and it's not got better. It also makes a strange whining noise when using both heating zones and, like other portable induction hobs I've used, is noisey - louder than my microwave.
I repeat - do not buy.

Hi Ray, sorry to hear that you are not getting on with your double induction hob. I have conducted many tests on this hob and have come to understand that it reacts differently to varying types of cookware. Generally* setting 2 or 3 should provide a good simmering level. From cold, setting 2 will take the liquid temperature up to approx. 60°C, setting 3 to 90°C. I found that you do get varying results if you boil at full speed then try to reduce to setting 3. Can I suggest you try setting 3 from the start, and see how you get on? As for the noise, again this is dependent upon the cookware used and the earthing of your electricity, but all induction hobs will make a degree of humming when in operation.

* tests were conducted using a Stainless Steel pan with a 5mm thermic base, heating 250ml of water from room temperature
