Stellar glass kettle £41

The first time I used it I filled to almost 1.7L
(to clean, as recommended)
and it boiled...and boiled...and boiled some more before turning itself off.
That first usage also left 1cm wide band of patchy discoloration around half of the heating plate's outer egde ~ a side / back / side arc.
A one-off, or a design fault?
Very disappointing, either way.

It is quite natural for stainless steel to discolour a little during first use (as the properties of the metal have been changed to shape it). After a few more uses the discolouration should self-heal and return to a natural stainless steel. The severity of the discolouration can vary depend your water type/hardness
